It had a tender crumb, lots of vanilla and sweet corn flavor, and it was so moist it literally melted in your mouth. She held onto her recipe for years and after incessant begging on my part \u2013 I finally got the recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, my recipe has a bit of a twist and a fun special ingredient that makes my grandma\u2019s buttermilk cornbread \u2026 dare I say, even better (sorry Gram). I wanted to make a cornbread recipe that tasted like home as soon as I took that first bite \u2013 and this is hands down the most delicious cornbread ever. It\u2019s one of those easy recipes where after you make it, you\u2019ll be making it over and over without even needing the recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>8 Tbsp. Butter unsalted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd C. Granulated sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 C. Yellow cornmeal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 Large eggs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 C. Buttermilk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tsp. Baking soda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 C. All purpose flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How To Make Grandmother\u2019s Buttermilk Cornbread<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mix together all of the ingredients except for the butter until smooth and creamy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place the butter into an oven safe skillet on the stove, and melt it over medium heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the butter is melted, remove the skillet from the heat, and pour the batter into it.
