Cook it up over medium heat until it&#8217;s all nice and browned, breaking it up as you go.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once that sausage is lookin&#8217; good, sprinkle in your flour and give it a good stir. Let it cook for about 2 minutes to get all friendly with the sausage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slowly pour in your milk while you keep stirring like there&#8217;s no tomorrow. Crank up the heat to medium-high and let it all come to a nice boil. Then, turn down the heat and let it simmer until it thickens up, &#8217;bout 5 minutes or so. Season it up with salt, pepper, and sage to taste.
