Chipped beef on toast is one of those recipes for me. I know it\u2019s not fancy nor is it good for me but I still absolutely love it. My mom and dad made it for us often while we were growing up and it has always been one of my very favorite breakfasts. Since it\u2019s not good for any of us, I only make this recipe once a year, usually for my birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\u00a0jar of dried beef slices\u00a0rinsed well &amp; chopped<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4\u00a0tbsp\u00a0butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4\u00a0tbsp\u00a0flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pinch\u00a0of cayenne<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00a0cups\u00a0milk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper\u00a0to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bread\u00a0toasted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How To Make Creamed Chipped Beef on Toast<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rinse the slices of dried beef really well \u2013 they are VERY salty! Once you have rinsed well, pat dry with a paper towel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chop the beef into small bite-sized pieces. Set aside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat the butter in the\u00a0large saucepan\u00a0over medium heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the flour and pinch of cayenne pepper to the melted butter and whisk until well combined and cooked through, about 45 seconds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Very slowly add the milk while whisking continually.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the milk has all been added, add the chopped dried beef.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cook, stirring occasionally, for a few minutes until thickened.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taste and season with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste, if needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve on top of dry toast immediately.
